Customer Account
To purchase goods from this website you need to create a membership account with us. We require you to provide your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and your credit card details to enable the processing of any orders that you make. You agree to provide Wilkinson Hardware Stores Ltd with current, complete and accurate customer information when asked to do so by this website or a customer service representative of Wilkinson Hardware Stores Ltd.
To create an account, please click on the ‘create account’ button, situated in the Account section of the website page, and enter your details into the required fields. Once all your details have been entered correctly, click on the ‘create’ button just below your address and your account will be open.
For your convenience on future visits to Wilkinson Hardware Stores Ltd all you will need to do is ‘log in’ with your user name and password to place an order.
All customers warrant that they are over 16 or have the consent of their parents or guardians to enter into a purchase agreement with Wilkinson Hardware Stores Ltd.
Creating a Password
We recommend not using full names or dates in your password. Ensure your password includes at least one number and is at least 8 characters in length.
Please remember a password is case sensitive which means if you enter capital letters then you must ensure you type in capital letters when logging in else you will be refused access. Check your CAPS LOCK button is OFF before submitting your password details to avoid this potential problem.
Forgotten Password
If you can’t remember your password, you may select the Forgotten Password button, enter your email address supplied when you created your account and an email will be sent with your password details.
Logging Off
It is important for you to protect against unauthorised access to your password and to your computer. Ensure that you log out when you finish using a shared computer.
Purchasing Items
When you find a book you wish to buy click the “Buy” button, the book will be added to your shopping basket, giving you the option to ‘Buy Again’ denoting this item has already been placed into the shopping basket. The book will be displayed in the shopping basket section (found at the top of the right-hand column) together with the cost.
To delete a Book from the shopping basket, click on the ‘basket’ button to display contents, then go to the right of the book details and tick the ‘remove’ checkbox and click the ‘update’ button to refresh your order/shopping basket status.
When you are happy with what you have ordered and entered into the shopping basket proceed by clicking on the ‘CHECKOUT’ button and paying for the items. This will take you to our secure server where you can enter your credit card and delivery details. Once your details have been entered and authenticity confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email for the receipt of your order with details of expected delivery time(s).
You may view existing orders by logging on to the site and viewing your account information. All order history can be viewed along with the status of current orders you have yet received.
Searching for Items
You can search for a Book by Author or Title using the search box located on every website page. For best results, try keeping your search simple. An advanced search is also available with more options. Use the Advanced Search button to view this page. Help text is available below the search fields for further assistance.
Browsing for Items
You can browse for Books available by category (Romance, Biographies, etc) by clicking on the required category in the category section, which can be found on every website page. Please note, the list of books displayed includes a search field located at the top of the page to further help locate a set of books that may be of interest.
A list of related folders to the selected book category is also shown. These folders can be clicked on to further refine the list of books.
Payment Details
We currently accept payment by MasterCard & Visa.
All product prices and delivery charges are shown in pound sterling.
Your payment card company will perform any currency conversion.
Delivery Destination
All valid destinations are provided in a dropdown list. These are selected when you create/manage your shipping destinations within your account management page.
